SMB setup for XP computers

Hi- I'm only able to log on from my phone's ESFilemanager anonymously (via smb) to my xp computers, but I'm able to log in with a username and password to my windows7 computer. I use the same firewall (Norton Security Suite, provided by my ISP) for all my computers, and the traffic rules appear to be the same for all of them as far as possible. Where can I learn how to set up my xp computers so that I can do more than just view their files with an anonymous logon? Thanks for any help.

I found a solution here: http://www.ethosimaging.com/docu ... 0Windows%20V1.2.pdf

For me, all I had to do was to uncheck the "Use simple file sharing" box in My Computer>>Tools>>View

ok, so now I can do things like play from my phone the mp3s that are on my xp computers via SMB, but can I do the same in reverse? Can I play songs that are on my computer from my phone via SMB? Am I able somehow to set up an SMB server on my pc the way I did with ESFilemanager on my phone?

Thanks for your answering.
You need to share a directory and then give your current user read and write permissions. Or you can direct access by using the administrator.
