Errors of Access Remote Shares

First of all, ES Explorer does a great job that no other Android software could do.

In my work place, which has an Buffalo wifi router w/ official firmware and some other 2003/XP clients, I can access all the shares on other PCs w/o any problem.

But at home, which has an Buffalo wifi router w/ DD-WRT firmware and all its clients are running Win7, I got errors both when trying to scan, and manually config a share.

I'm not sure if it's the router, or win7 that does the trick. So I will build up a virtual machine with XP at home tonight, to see if ES explorer can get to it. And I feels it's about win7.

Anyone else has this kind of issues?
Updates:

I tried to connect to the virtual machine on which is running XP. But still got the same error.

It drives me crazzzzy now.
Reserve your phone a static IP address on your router.  I had the problem that when I would manually add a server, it would say server not found and if I did a scan it would error with "check  your wifi".  Giving the phone a static IP on the router fixed the issue.  It makes no sense that would fix the problem but it did.
For connection time out:
Can it be the firewall problem?
For "check your wifi":
We found the system will return wrong network status on N1, we will look into it.

Hey Newbie, thanks for the suggestion. But I just tried the static IP, just got the same prompt to "check your wifi".

Wish the next build is coming soon with the fix.
The check wifi error often caused by wifi chipset incompatiblity.
We will try to fix it in next release.
Hi all

I'm in the same boat, whenever i try to perform a scan i get the "check wifi connection" error message. Now where that gets funny is that my router is a Linksys which is running a DD-WRT firmware too and i'm trying to reach my laptop which is running windows 7. Phone is a HTC Desire stock. Every other app can use wifi just fine, be it web, mail or whatever.
Bluetoooth is giving me a hard time too as it won't pick my laptop when it clearly appears in the HTC Bluetooth settings and the phone is picked by my laptop too. I guess it doesn't like my HP 6830s Bluetooth chipset anymore than my router.
Maybe next week i'll have a chance to test with almost the same router (same model but the next rev) with the stock firmware, i'll see if it makes any difference and will report my findings.

Cheers and keep up the good job
I woke up today to a eStrong File Explorer update notification. After installation, i'm not getting the "check wifi" error anymore and my laptop is now detected but i am getting the "timeout" error. After googleing a little it seems like every user who have a password that includes non alpha-numeric symbols (which i am) is getting the "timeout" error.

Edit: OK, this is definitely a password problem, i've just setup a new user account on my laptop with a password that only contains letters and problem solved. So for now, you'll have to change your password to use File Explorer wifi or wait for the next update if you don't want to weaken your password.
Hope it helps.
